Surfing In Imperial Beach

There is a reason a surfboard museum exists in Imperial Beach-it is the essence of a classic surf town. IB offers 3.5 miles of pristine coastline that stretch from its northernmost boundary to the U.S. / Mexico border. Surfers worldwide come to enjoy our famous big-wave break, the Tijuana Sloughs.  Here, surf culture runs deeply and passionately through several generations of surfers, shapers, and designers. As early as 1937, pioneers of the sport came here to surf the Sloughs. IB's role in the history of the first boards designed for big waves to the internationally known brands that were born in this little beach town truly shows the roots of our community.

If you want to be truly engulfed with history, there's no better place than the waves of IB.
